A Lesson from Farming Around

Under this tree I lay

leaves rustling in the wind;

their sound crunchy, not soft

as they prepare to fall.

   The soft earth catches them

with new grasses from the rains;

they play, embrace each other

though from opposite parts of life’s planes…

Knowing one feeds the other

makes them aware to take care;

caress, be kind, make strong

for each other they will be there.

aka thoughts that roam through my mind when I wander around the farm and get “stuck” under a tree 🙂
